‘Early Repayment Charge’ (ERC) is the penalty charge incurred if you pay off part, or all, of you mortgage earlier than anticipated. Details of this are covered in the Key Fact Illustration Document (KFI) or the European Standardised Illustration Sheet (ESIS). An ERC does not apply to all mortgages.
